There will be no green in the desert without irrigation, and meanwhile, it is very difficult to carry out sand land irrigation, the main reason lies in: 1. 2. You must keep on watering to keep root area of the plant wet, which will consume a large amount of water and power.
3. The desert ground is uneven, sand dunes of different size are distributed irregularly, with the height range from several meters to dozens of meters, so drop irrigation equipment can’t be used without leveling, but leveling land will consume tremendous manpower and material resources on one hand, and destroy the existing landform and native vegetation on the other hand, and it will destroy the original ecosystem once again.
4. Even when the drop irrigation equipment has been used, the leakage loss will still be inevitable. Because capillary tubes of the sandy soil are very poor and with many macropores, it is easy for large amounts of water to leak downward through macropores among grains of sand; horizontal water holding capacity and side infiltration and transportation ability of the soil are poor, wet body under the water dropper is slender and with very small diameter, water flows through the slender wet body rapidly and leaks downward outside the rhizosphere in the form of gravitational water, and it is hardly to get good irrigation effect.
